The IFRF 2023 Conference is scheduled to take place in The Netherlands in October 2023.  This will be an exciting event arranged by the IFRF and the Dutch National Flame Committee (NVV). The Netherlands is of course the original home of the IFRF, founded in Ijmuiden in 1948 and the location for IFRF for 50 years. It seems fitting that we should return there to celebrate our 75th year.

The conference organising committee will meet in January 2023, to start planning in detail key conference topics, speakers, call for papers and registration, so for now please keep the event in your conference planning thoughts. With the Netherlands taking a leading role within Europe to decarbonise power and industrial manufacture, there are some great sites to choose from to arrange a delegate visit.

Other events currently planned by the IFRF for 2023 are as follows:

  • 1-day workshop entitled ‘From lab scale to industrial combustion: challenges for the scale up of experimental and simulation approaches’ at the 11th at the 11th European Combustion Meeting in Rouen, France on 25 April 2023.  Paper submission and sponsorship details are already available on the IFRF website.
  •  2-3 day CPD approved short course on hydrogen at the Translational Energy Research Centre (TERC) in Sheffield, UK, scheduled for May 2023- details to follow soon
  • 1 day TOTeM on ‘hydrogen in the glass industry’ organised by Italian Flame Committee, scheduled for June 2023- details to follow soon
