Sintef has become the latest organisation to join the IFRF Preferred Research Partner (PRP) Network, becoming the seventh such organisation.  Full details of the offering of all seven PRP members are provided under the Services tab on IFRF homepage. Mario Ditaranto is the Chief Scientist at SINTEF Energy Research, Thermal Energy Department and he has provided the following information on the three test rigs that are available through the IFRF PRP.

  1. HIPROX Combustor

This is a 120kW facility for the development of novel pressurised combustion concepts operating at up to 10 bar pressure with flexible oxidant and fuel feeds and a range of measurement capabilities.

  1. Chemical Looping Combustion 150 kW pilot unit

This is a facility for the development of novel chemical looping technology including CO2 capture with a range of solid and gaseous fuels and oxygen carrier materials.

  1. Demoxyt

This is a 100kWe gas turbine demonstrator allowing conventional air or oxyfuel combustion modes, together with exhaust gas recirculation (EGR).

Organisations interested in using any of these rigs should contact IFRF administration in the first instance.
