  • IFRF’s American Flame Research Committee (AFRC) will be hosting its Annual Industrial Combustion Symposium on 9th-11th September 2019, in Waikoloa Village, Hawaii.

The call for abstracts is now open!

Abstracts on all topics related to combustion and flame are welcome. Presentations will cover a wide spectrum:

    • Fundamental research to laboratory, pilot and full-scale testing
    • Computer simulations to industrial applications
    • Design, operation and troubleshooting of combustion equipment

A sampling of papers from past meetings is available on the AFRC website.

The AFRC Annual Industrial Combustion Symposia provides a unique forum for combustion professionals to network, display their work, receive direct feedback and learn from each other.

There will be a Focused Discussion on Incinerators/Thermal Oxidisers during the Symposium. If you are interested in participating as a presenter/panellist, please contact Jamal.

    Guideline for the Abstracts

Abstracts should be no more than one page long and should provide a brief overview of the presentation topic. These should reach Catrina Wilson by 15th March 2019. Early submissions are strongly encouraged and will receive preferential considerations by the Organising Committee. Notification of acceptance will be communicated by 3rd May 2019.

    Guideline for the Papers

Please note that AFRC policy is “No Paper, No Podium!” so if you do not submit a written paper by the deadline, you will be unable to present it at the Symposium, even if your abstract had been accepted. However, AFRC is flexible regarding paper format and are more concerned with the content and the value that it brings to the AFRC community. The full paper should reach Catrina by 19th July 2019.

Further details about the event can be found on the AFRC website.
