US company Clean Coal Technologies Inc has signed an agreement with the University of Wyoming such that each entity will provide up to US$1 million towards further development work on Clean Coal Technologies Inc’s Pristine M coal refining technology. The agreement came after the university made its own tests of the performance of Pristine M, which aims to reduce the presence of mercury and sulphur in coal by 90% while improving the heating value. To begin with, each entity will contribute US$500,000 to the work, to be carried out at a test facility to be built in the town of Gillette (Wyoming), with a second stage being optional. CCTI is hoping to commercialise the technology through the additional development work.
