BE2020 and TUG will provide access to their biomass fuel characterisation laboratories as well as biomass conversion research facilities, located at the headquarters of BE2020 at the campus of TUG in Graz, Austria.
The labs and testing facilities are jointly operated by BE2020 and TUG and include two different types of lab-scale reactors for biomass fuel characterisation and thermal decomposition tests as well as two biomass conversion test facilities including appropriate sampling and measurement equipment.

Among this measurement equipment a special by TUG in-house developed high-temperature
low-pressure impactor should be highlighted. With this device in-situ submicron particle sampling and
measurement at temperatures up to 1,000°C is possible. Moreover, a fully equipped laboratory for chemical fuel, ash, aerosol and deposit analyses, which is also owned and operated by BE2020, is available.
