Thank you to everyone who has submitted abstracts to the conference. We now have around 20 submissions which are currently being reviewed by the Scientific Committee. There are more presentation slots available, particularly as we consider a parallel session format, so please note that we have extended the abstracts submission deadline to 28 February 2025. Please send abstracts as Microsoft Word files to Siobhan Green at administration@ifrf.net using the template: IFRF-2025-Conference-Abstract-Template.
In-line with this new schedule, we have extended the early-bird submission deadline to 7 March 2025. Details of the conference, including registration are available on the IFRF events page, with an overview as follows:
Key Notes: The line-up of keynote speakers is nearing completion, which now includes:
- Louis Ricci, R&D Director, Fives, Energy/ Combustion Business Unit
- Sebastiano Fumero, Head of ‘Future Low Emission Industries’, European Commission
- Philip de Goey, Prof of Combustion Technology in the Power & Flow, Dept of Mech Eng, Eindhoven University of Technology
- Anna Domènech, Head of Innovation & Industrial Engineer, Celsa
Special Session: Sebastiano Fumero will give the keynote at the special half-day session on significant demonstration projects with the objective of reducing greenhouse gas emissions in hard-to-abate industrial sectors.
Tour: The conference also includes the option of a tour of the Translational Energy Research Centre (TERC) facilities. TERC is a world-leading pilot-scale research centre which works with industry to test and develop green energy solutions for a decarbonised future. It provides one of the largest and best-equipped zero-carbon energy research and development facilities in Europe.
Gala dinner: And on the social/networking side, we have a gala dinner to be held at the University of Sheffield’s historic Firth Hall.
