China Power Hub Generation Company and General Electric have completed the construction of a 1320 MW supercritical coal-fired power plant in Balochistan, the south-western most state of Pakistan. GE supplied the power generation equipment for two 660 MW units at the plant, with CPHGC carrying out other engineering tasks for the project, which was funded as part of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor megaproject. The new facility will help to reduce some of the deficit between the country’s growing electricity demand and its domestic supply.
