Work has begun on a 200 MW gas-fired power plant in Pancevo, near to the Serbian capital of Belgrade. A joint venture between Serbian oil company NIS and Gazprom Energoholding (both entities ultimately majority owned by Gazprom), the plant is being built by Shanghai Electric Group, with construction scheduled to finish by the end of 2020. NIS owns a number of smaller gas-fired plants already, as well as wind turbines and oil fields across Serbia, Bosnia, Hungary, Romania and Angola.
