Martin Schiemann from IFRF member organisation Bochum University and Secretary of DVV (German Flame Research committee), has asked us to publicise the upcoming international workshop on Reacting Particle-Gas Systems.
This is the third international workshop in a series, taking place on 15-17 February 2027 in Bochum, Germany. The focus will be modelling and experimental characterisation of reactive particle-gas systems. Organised by the Collaborative Research Centre 287 BULK-REACTION, the event is aimed at researchers in industry, universities and research centres.
The main topics of this workshop are:
- Advancement in simulations of reactive particle-gas systems (especially based on DEM/CFD)
- Single-particle reaction models (detailed, reduced, pore network models…)
- Gas flow and gas-phase reactions in particle-gas systems (DNS, LES, porous media models…)
- Advanced measurement techniques in particle-gas systems (laser diagnostics, tomographic techniques, radar, PET, MRI…)
- Reference experiments and benchmarks to validate corresponding simulations
Call for papers
The organisers invite interested colleagues and students to present their work in a talk or poster session. Please submit an extended abstract (max. 4 pages) by 15 October, 2026 with notification of acceptance by 15 November 2026. Selected contributions will be published in a special issue of Particuology.
Full details included registration fees, keynote lecturers and abstract template can be found in the attached flyer.
