BRISK 15.1 Entrained Flow Reactor

The entrained flow reactor is constructed to simulate the local conditions in high temperature reactors such as pulverized fuel boilers, entrained flow gasifiers and calciners. The reactor input equipment consists of a gas preheater and a high quality continuous solid fuel feeder. The reactor is a two meter long electrically heated ceramic tube with an internal diameter of 8 cm. Support equipment in the form of gas supply equipment, particle extraction, gas analyzers and deposit probes are available.

Maximum operation temperature: 1450°C
Maximum residence time: 2seconds
Nominal fuel feeding rate: 50 to 1000 g/h

Has been used for studies of solid fuel reactivity, ash deposit formation, ash transformation, calcination and heterogeneous NO formation and destruction.
