The facility consists of an atmospheric 3 MWth bubbling fluidized bed gasifier which uses different types of biomass and works at 850ºC.Currently is prepared for air-blown operation, but provisions exist to adapt the facility to use oxygen/steam mixtures easily available at the Technology Development Plant where the gasifier is located.
The plant has two biomass feeding systems, a start-up facility, an additive feed and sand replacement facility, an ABFB gasifier with cyclones for particles removal, an ash removal system, a flare and an emergency stack.
