BRISK 13.4 Spray Characteristion Rig

Atomization of biofuels for application in furnaces and boilers is also studied in larger-scale atmospheric facilities, allowing for pre-heat and superheat for heavy biofuel products. High pressure/temperature characterisation is undertaken in a rig developed for the automotive industry (Ricardo Consulting Engineers), where scaled HP/HT studies may be undertaken (up to 30bar). Biofuels are studied in an optical, flow-through high-pressure/temperature facility accommodating preheated or superheated fuels All rigs offer optical access, and a broad range of laser diagnostic techniques are used extensively comprising: LDA, PDA, PIV, PLIF,high-speed imaging, Malvern particle analyzer.
