Åbo Akademi

The Åbo Akademi Process Chemistry Centre (PCC) is a Centre of Excellence in research appointed to this position by the Academy of Finland for the period of 2000-2011. PCC was formed in 1998 by joining four research groups at Åbo Akademi into one research centre with common objectives, research strategy and leadership.

The research personnel of PCC is around 70 people, including 6 professors, 12 key senior researchers plus some 20 post doctoral researchers or visiting scientists. Further, more than 30 doctoral thesis works are in progress. PCC has developed improved understanding of chemical aspects in biofuel conversion processes.
