Summary

On June 17th and 18th 2008 at the Technical University of Munich, Germany, the IFRF conducted two workshops specifically related to the Members' Research Programme.  The workshop on Validation of combustion modelling for practical combustion systems took place from 14.00 to 19.00 on June 17.

The workshop Chairman was Dr. Christian Mueller of Clyde Bergemann in Germany and a significant number of IFRF Member organisations sent representatives.

Agenda

1. Introduction and scope

2. Identification of existing case studies

3. Characterisation of FOSPER type flames for validation  purposes

4. Modelling FOSPER and other flames/systems

5. Validation criteria
Development of  procedures/standards for evaluating the modelling outputs on the basis of comparison with  experimental results

6. Conclusions and Action Plan

The action plan resulting from the workshop is included in the summary which can be downloaded from this site.
