This week we focus on two events in the early part of next year, the Finnish Flame “Liekkipäivä” which takes place on the 30th of January, 2014, in the Hotel Victoria in Tampere, and the French Italian Joint Combustion Meeting planned for April 23 and 24 in Pisa.

“Liekkipäivä” is an annual special forum for the combustion technology community in Finland.  Keynote speakers have been identified for the 2014 event and presentations are invited.  All the relevant information is available on the FFRC website.   The deadline for abstracts is 23 December 2013.

After the event, and with the permission of the speakers, the presentations delivered during the “Liekkipäivä” will be published on the FFRC website.

A First Announcement has already been published for the joint meeting being organized by the French and Italian IFRF National Committees and the associated sections of the Combustion Institute in Pisa next April.

The event is planned to enhance collaboration and information exchange in the French and Italian combustion communities, and will cover a wide range of topics, both research related and regarding industrial applications.  The two days will articulate around invited keynote lectures and poster sessions primarily focused on 4 main topics, selected to stimulate exchanges between modelers, experimenters, chemists and/or physicists.

Poster abstracts are invited.  Guidelines for abstract submission can be found on the IFRF Events Calendar in the First Announcement and Call for poster abstracts alongside information about the venue and details of accommodation arrangements.  More information will be published as it becomes available.
