To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the publication of its Strategic Energy Technology (SET) Plan in 2007, on 12th December the EC published a document titled ‘SET Plan 2007-2017’ (available here). 

The publication collates the main achievements on EU clean energy research and innovation (R&I) policies from 2007 to the present resulting from SET Plan activity. 

The SET Plan, even if not a funding mechanism per se, has been and will be instrumental for more targeted spending on clean energy and keeping the momentum for mobilising additional finance from public and private actors in the future. 

The report highlights success in a number of areas relevant to IFRF members, including bioenergy and CCS.
