Following from the British Flame AGM (Hosted by MBEL, Renfrew Scotland), where it was announced that a workshop on ‘Waste’ would be held, there have been developments.

Firstly British Flame have agreed to co-sponsor an Institute of Physics, Combustion Physics Group initiative along with the British Section of the Combustion Institute.  This concerns a one day meeting on the combustion of Biofuels, which will be hosted by  E.ON UK Power Technology at Radcliffe-on-Soar, Nottingham on 19th September, as now advertised in the IFRF Events Calendar – http://www.calendar.ifrf.net/event.html?id=195 . The objective of this meeting is to provide a forum for contributions on current research on biofuels and an opportunity to meet other workers in this field.

Meanwhile British Flame are detailing the planning for their above-mentioned workshop on waste which will be of the interactive format with keynote addresses and break-out groups – presently it is foreseen to take place in the first week in October. We will give full details shortly in the Calendar.

This timing of the meeting will allow the possibility to feed forward information to the IFRF TOTeM29 meeting on Secondary Fuels co-combustion, to be held in Munich on October 12th and 13th 2006 (see IFRF Events Calendar – http://www.calendar.ifrf.net/event.html?id=191)

Finally planned British Flame activities for 2006 include a November Technical Meeting on Combustion Diagnostics (see IFRF Events Calendar – http://www.calendar.ifrf.net/event.html?id=187).
