The IFRF are pleased to announce that its next TOTeM #51 meeting entitled ‘Green hydrogen: advances in CFD simulations of industrial hydrogen flames’ will be organised in collaboration with the American Flame Research Committee as part of their 2024 Annual Industrial Combustion Symposium to be held on 30 Sept- 03 Oct 2024 in Calgary, Canada. Preliminary details of the TOTeM and the wider Combustion Symposium are provided below.

The AFRC organising committee requests abstracts of papers for presentation at the American Flame Research Committee’s 2024 Annual Industrial Combustion Symposium to be held September 30 – October 3, at the Hilton Garden Inn Calgary Downtown in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The AFRC Annual Industrial Combustion Symposium provides a unique forum for combustion professionals to network, display their work, receive direct feedback, and learn from each other.

This year, the Symposium format will include two days of technical sessions, and the third morning will be dedicated to a ToTEM (Topic-Oriented Technical Meeting). For the technical sessions, abstracts on all topics related to combustion and flame are welcome. We encourage papers related to decarbonisation and “green” combustion. Presentations in past symposia have covered a wide spectrum of combustion-related topics.

All combustion equipment types are covered. A sampling of papers from past meetings is available on the AFRC website.

The topic for the ToTEM is “Green Hydrogen: Advances in CFD Simulations of Industrial Hydrogen Flames.” We seek participation from academic and industry experts in combustion of hydrogen, and computer simulation of combustion processes.
