The Joint AFRC/JFRC International Conference was entitled Advances in Combustion Technology: Improving the Environment and Energy Efficiency and took place at the Marriott Waikoloa Beach Resort and Spa on the Big Island of Hawaii near Kona from Oct. 22nd through 24th.


Conference Hosts and Chairmen were Dr. Richard T. Waibel, John Zink Co., LLC and Susumu Mochida, Nippon Furnace Co., LTD.  The 3 day meeting attracted 90 delegates, 28 from abroad, and 59 presentations and papers.  The global spread meant that this meeting, like its predecessor, made a global impression of the benefits of applied combustion research.


The papers on the CD cover a broad spectrum of interests related to industrial combustion, energy utilization and related topics in furnaces, boilers, engines and flares. For a list of the papers or to request a CD, please email a request to afrcjl@earthlink.net.  Be sure to identify your organization and say whether or not you are IFRF affiliates.


The cost of the CD, net to AFRC treasury and including shipping, handling and all wire fees:

International Conference on Clean and Secure Energy, May 11-14


The AFRC is sponsoring the International Conference on Clean and Secure Energy at the scenic Canyons Resort in the heart of Park City, Utah.  The conference will highlight combustion research and development needs for the Petroleum and Utility industries, as well as flare and burner research for Energy industries.
