Lucy_Straker_2015_web_version_headshot.jpgLucy has joined us as IFRF’s new Admin and Communications Coordinator. She specialises in communications and marketing particularly within digital media. Lucy joins IFRF from a UK-based member organisation for volunteering (called NAVCA) where she coordinated all communications and engagement with members, key stakeholders and wider communities. Lucy’s biography is below:

My real passion lies in connecting people through digital and social media. In the two years I was at NAVCA I revolutionised their online presence and established them as a ‘go to’ place for voluntary sector information online. I was also a digital champion for smaller charities and groups and helped them make the step into the digital world. I hope to utilise this expertise to similarly assist IFRF and its members.

I have also managed co-funded EU projects. These included projects tackling EU-wide issues such as metal theft, cyber security, counter radicalisation and identity theft. Working with partners across Europe was a great experience and I learned so much from everyone and I really felt that we were making a difference.

When I am not working, I can usually be found at the local cinema, reciting film trivia to anyone who will listen or writing film reviews online. I live in Sheffield with my wife and two naughty dogs and try to cycle as much as possible. We love to travel to far off places and see life from other people’s perspective. Oh and I’m rarely without my iPhone – to the annoyance of many.
