This week, the IFRF Handbook continues its publication campaign relating to the use of Iron and Steelworks By-Product Gases, with four Combustion Files. These are:
All four files focus on beneficiation methods for low CV gases. In addition to describing the options available to enhance the combustion properties of Blast Furnace Gas, they present quantitative guidance as to the effect of beneficiation on furnace efficiency and NOx formation.
All four files are based on results extracted from the IFRF G1 trials. I would like to acknowledge the support of the original G1 trial report authors, Jean-Bernard Michel of CSEM, (Swiss Center for Electronics and Microtechnology) and Roy Payne of GE EER (USA) (Energy and Environment Research)
IFRF Members may read or download these new Combustion Files at www.handbook.ifrf.net, by selecting ‘New Combustion Files’ after accepting the disclaimer screen. Other Combustion Files on related themes, many of which are also open to non-IFRF members, may be found by using the links built into the CFs, or by searching the Handbook with the keywords like ‘Fuels’ or ‘gases’ or ‘biogas’, or try any of the fuels that may be of specific interest to you.
