IFRF announces its 42nd Topic Oriented Technical Meeting “Industrial heating: Furnaces, Process Heaters, Kilns – Design of safe, fuel and environmentally efficient thermal equipment”  With a focus on the problems of designing and using thermal equipment in the process industry, the event takes place in IJmuiden, IFRF’s historic home, and is being organised in collaboration with the Nederlandse Vereniging voor Vlamonderzoek (Dutch Association for flame research) on the premises of Tata Steel on 24 and 25 June 2014.  Included in the programme is a site visit to the Tata Steel industrial plant at Velsen Noord.

TOTeM 42 is of relevance to producers and end users of heating equipment across the industry spectrum and will feature international experts as keynote speakers.  The major themes to be covered include:

  • Effective and efficient furnace design
  • Burner design and layout
  • Fuel flexibility
  • Heat transfer and heat recovery equipment – energy saving
  • Retrofitting technologies: implementation issues
  • Cost effective furnace/burner revamp
  • Standards and legislation

Papers are not invited but contributions of abstacts are warmly invited for the poster sessions which are open to all delegates.  Registration for the event is already open.  All the necessary information appears in the First Announcement on the IFRF Events Calendar.
