As described in last week’s Monday Night Mail, IFRF Investigators are responsible for the planning and execution of our experimental campaigns.  The work includes supervising the technical teams deployed for the experiments, and then analysing and reporting experimental outcomes.  For this position, the capacity to run CFD codes is considered important.

The IFRF now seeks expressions of interest from young PhD’s in a relevant Engineering discipline, preferably with experience relating to combustion, emissions or energy systems.  Aspirants should demonstrate a good level of written and spoken English as this is the working language of the IFRF in Italy.  In addition to their technical background, candidates for the post of Investigator should have excellent communications skills, and be familiar with the use of modern IT systems.

The position will be based in the IFRF’s new offices at Livorno.  It is envisaged that the successful candidate will be offered a fixed term contract of three years in the first instance.

Potential candidates are invited to send a short CV and a letter of reference from an academic supervisor or IFRF fellow to tracey.biller@ifrf.net with an indication of the timing of their availability.  A letter of motivation is also invited.

For more details about conditions of employment etc. candidates are referred to Professor Tognotti, who may be contacted on leo.tognotti@ifrf.net
