• IFRF 2025 Conference: Preliminary programme published and first sponsor announced

  • Further details of the upcoming IFRF 2025 conference have been published on the IFRF website. This includes Jörg Leicher, Research Engineer / Combustion Specialist at GWI announced as the opening keynote speaker, followed by rapid 1-minute ‘taster’ presentations of the 10 posters to be shown in the poster session.

    The first 2 days of the conference then includes over 30 presentations grouped in to the session themes of Hydrogen, Process heating, Measurement technology, Emerging technologies, Ammonia, Solid fuels, Modelling, Heat recovery & carbon capture, and Metal combustion. These are interspersed with four further keynote lectures from Louis Ricci, R&D Director, Fives, Energy/ Combustion Business Unit, Sebastiano Fumero, Head of ‘Future Low Emission Industries’, European Commission, Philip de Goey, Prof of Combustion Technology in the Power & Flow, Dept of Mech Eng, TU/e, and Anna Domènech, Head of Innovation & Industrial Engineer, Celsa. 

    The second day of the conference includes the option for up to 80 attendees to visit the world leading facilities of the newly-named EIC (Energy Innovation Centre), followed by a Gala Dinner at the historic University of Sheffield’s Firth Hall. 

    The special session on EU demonstrators on the final day includes presentations on the following ten high profile projects:
