We are delighted to share with you the full programme for the #IFRF2018 Conference, to be held in Sheffield, UK on 30-31 May.

We received some fantastic and wide ranging abstract from our call last year and as a result have a diverse and interesting programme for you. Please click here to be transferred to our Eventbrite page where you can view the agenda.

The programme includes an optional tour of PACT – the University of Sheffield’s specialist R&D facilities for combustion and carbon capture – on the 29 May.

The conference begins on 30 May at Sheffield’s Town Hall with a welcome from IFRF’s President, Sauro Pasini and Mike Hounslow, Vice President and Head of Engineering at the University of Sheffield. Following them are two keynote speakers – Philip Sharman, IFRF Director and Mohamed Pourkashanian, IFRF General Secretary – who will look back at IFRF through the years and set the scene for the rest of the event.

Delegates will then split into three parallel sessions, each of which will be chaired by a sector expert and include three presentations relevant to the session topic. In total, throughout the conference, there will be five sets of these triple parallel sessions – each looking at a specific topic or sector which are of interest to our members.

At lunch and at the end of proceedings on day one, delegates will have the chance to view the exhibition which will include stands from all our sponsors, the posters selected and a snapshot of IFRF history and future.

The day will end with delegates being transferred to Magna – a science exhibition centre – for a drinks reception, a chance to view their ‘Fire Gallery’ and a gala dinner.

Day two will start with a keynote from Ian Hodgson, DG Environment and a panel discussion regarding the environmental constraints of industrial combustion. This will be followed by more parallel sessions and a keynote from Steve Griffiths of Uniper.

Closing the conference on day two, we will once again hear from Philip Sharman and Mohamed Pourkashanian on the future of IFRF and how you can be a part of it.

So head over to our Eventbrite page (here), view the programme in full and then book your tickets! We will see you in May.
