Today we have published updated versions of two Combustion Files as follows:
- CF225: How do I calculate the Calorific Value of solid fuels? – Members’ Domain
- CF226: How do I calculate the air required and flue gas composition for combustion of solid fuels? – Members’ Domain
Both files are prepared by Professor Franz Winter and his colleague, Georg Schmidinger of the Vienna University of Technology, Institute of Chemical Engineering – Fuel and Environmental Technology. These changes originate from the development of the new combustion file, published last week:
CF228: What tools are available for Calorific Value calculations? – Members’ Domain During the preparation of CF228, equations were taken from CF225. However a typographical error was noted in the example calculations, using these equations, in both CF225 and CF226. In the new versions, these errors have been corrected.
The new versions can be found at:

Regular users of the Handbook who archive the pdf versions of combustion files are reminded to download the new version, using the pdf icon on the left hand side of the banner of each combustion file.
