This week, the IFRF Handbook publishes a new downloadable Excel Calculator relating to ignition of single carbonaceous particles.

This combustion file has been authored by Sylvain Salvador of the Ecole des Mines at Albi, France, with the support of IFRF’s Patrick Lavery and Jean-Michell Commandré, also of Ecole des Mines. It automates the use of the ignition criteria set out in a linked combustion file, CF257, published earlier this year. We have also taken the opportunity of updating CF257 to version 2 to ensure complete consistency of nomenclature and units with CF275. Users who have downloaded version 1 of CF257 are advised to replace their copy with version 2 of:

IFRF Members may read or download these Combustion Files at www.handbook.ifrf.net, by selecting ‘New Combustion Files’ after accepting the disclaimer screen. Other Combustion Files on related themes, many of which are also open to non-IFRF members,  may be found by using the links built into the CFs, or by searching the Handbook with the  keywords like ‘ignition’  or ‘start’ or ‘stability’.
