CF District Heating IMG_20161201_140454-res.jpgOn December 1st, the General Assembly of the French Committee of the IFRF (Comité Francais – CF) was hosted by the Compagnie Parisienne de Chauffage Urbain (the Parisian District Heating Company) in one of their urban heat generation centres, Paris Grenelle, close to the Eiffel Tower. The 130 m chimney is the Fourth highest monument of the French capital (https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cheminée_du_Front-de-Seine). Technical presentations were given by Bruno Vinatier (CPCU), Fouad Saïd (Fives Pillard), Thierry Hortaned (Engie) and David Honoré (CORIA CNRS Rouen) mainly concerning the revamping of CPCU boilers from fuel to biofuel and natural gas during the last few years. 45 % of the network nominal power was concerned (around 1,8 GW). Advanced technique of flame visualisation (by UV) applied in one of the CPCU boilers was also described.
