The vast majority of IFRF Members will be well acquainted with Maria Buur.  She has been with the Foundation Secretariat since 1988, rising to Chef de Bureau.  She stayed with the Research Station when the new company was formed in 1998, but she continued her role of Membership Secretary in the development of IFRF NET.  Maria is the lady who regularly finds your lost passwords – any many many other things besides.

In the restructuring of the IFRF Research Station bv, staff were given the possibility to join Corus RD&T.  Maria was offered a place in the secretariat of Arjan van den Hoogen’s Department “Rolling Mills, Strip Reheating and Annealing”, which presently is also the base for the Netherlands Flame Research Committee, the NVV.  Maria decided to take the opportunity and commences her new career tomorrow 1st February.

We shall be very sorry to see her go but I am sure you will join me in thanking her for her for the fine service she has given the Foundation over many years and wish her well in her new career.

Meanwhile, the IFRF Administration is redeveloping and last week Tamara Becker joined us.  We welcome Tamara to the Foundation and thank Maria for introducing her to the complexities of the IFRF Membership systems.
