Since 2012, NVV Member – Dacolt has offered a 3-day course in combustion modeling with CFD, based on OpenFOAM® or ANSYS® FLUENT®. .  In the past 4 years, 12 courses have been given, either at Dacolt, on customer sites across Europe and this spring, for the first time, in the USA. 43 CFD engineers and students have attended, from nearly all combustion application industries, from safety engineering to automotive, from gas turbines to ship engines and from industrial burners to micro channel reactors.

The next edition of Introduction to turbulent combustion modeling with OpenFOAM® will be held in Maastricht (The Netherlands), November 18-20 2015. This 3-day training aims to get the participants familiar with the basic theoretical concepts used in turbulent combustion modeling and to provide hands-on exercises to apply the theory in industrial practice.
Combustion chemistry basics are covered and practiced during the first day of the training. Turbulent combustion modeling theory and OpenFOAM combustion models are reviewed and investigated in the second and third day. The training will be provided in English.

Previous training appreciations include “8/10 – participant from the Glass Industry”, “Really good training course – participant from the Aerospace industry”, “Clear and straightforward, very nice – participant from the Risk & Safety Industry”.
