The Technical Committee on Smart and Intelligent Systems, Vibration, Dynamics and System Identification of the Dynamic Systems and Control Division of the ASME is soliciting papers for several technical sessions on Engineering Asset Management at the 2007 ASME International Design Engineering Technical Conferences.

This symposium is focused on techniques that can be applied to the effective management of engineering assets.

Of interest are all techniques for novel applications of existing sensors, new sensor techniques, signal processing and conditioning, pattern recognition techniques, applications of artificial intelligence and novel applications in the area.

Papers are invited on, but not limited to, the following technical areas and topics:

  • Remote and online monitoring and diagnostics
  • Sensor fusion
  • Signal conditioning
  • Advances in system identification
  • Applications of advanced signal processing
  • Pattern recognition techniques
  • Optimization in engineering asset management
  • Smart sensors and devices
  • Fault diagnosis and prognosis
  • Nondestructive testing
  • Reliability engineering
  • Risk management
  • Plant maintenance and management
  • Failure analysis and preventive modes design, and
  • Education and standards in engineering asset management
