A one day technical meeting on New and Difficult Fuels was organised by British Flame on November 28th and attracted over 80 participants from the UK and elsewhere. Technical presentations covered a range of fuels from biofuels and wastes through to very low volatility coals. IFRF Director Leo Tognotti presented the first results of tests on a flameless combustor operating with hydrogen. There was a very lively discussion that served to confirm a very high level of interest in this topic within the UK combustion community. More information about the meeting is available from British Flame’s Jeff Rhine http://www.britishflame.org.uk/ .
