On 12th September I informed all our readers that at the end of September, I would retire as Director IFRF and simultaneously announced that Neil Fricker would take up the position of Interim Executive Director – IFRF, effective from the 1st October 2005.  Today is the handover day and this morning we completed the handover at the Chamber of Trade at Haarlem.   I would like to give my best wishes to Neil in this new responsibility and to all those who have worked with me over the last 27 years, directly at IJmuiden, within the National Committees for Flame Research, the IFRF Members, the Funding Agencies and so forth – the list is indeed long and the help that I have received is incalculable!
