British Flame is organizing a one day workshop to act as a catalyst to develop concepts and consortia for collaborative projects in the field of carbon abatement. This is in readiness for the expected DTI call for proposals in this particular field. The meeting will take place at the E.On facilities at Ratcliffe-on-Soar near Nottingham (see below) on Thursday 21st April 2005.

An organising committee, that includes Mike Colechin, Jeff Rhine, Tony Griffiths and Nick Syred, has arranged the programme so that it will be proactive with a clear set of objectives to help members achieve their goals. There are also further opportunities to network and to provide feedback for similar events.

YOUR CO-OPERATION IS THEREFORE VITAL FOR ITS SUCCESS.

We are also pleased to announce that E.ON UK will sponsor the event, which is being held at their Power Technology facilities at Ratcliffe-on-Soar near Nottingham.

The Chairman for the day is Roger Dudill, European Combustion Manager, Air Products Ltd and chairman of British flame.  He is supported by a series of high profile speakers that will address various issues relating to various sectors.

Our president Dr Frank Fitzgerald, former Managing Director (Technical) of British Steel will give an opening address which will be a unique view of carbon abatement from a UK perspective. However, the important issues are devoted to problem definitions, problem identification and commonalities leading to defining potential solutions and consortia. During the day there will be a fantastic opportunity to visit Power Technology’s facilities.

The registration details will be issued shortly and will be placed on the IFRF Calendar of Technical Events website.  This meeting is listed on the website as an IFRF National Technical Meeting.  For updates go to:
