IFRF at 70
2018 was a landmark year for IFRF as it marked our 70th anniversary. The year was filled with exciting opportunities and new ventures. Below is a quick overview of the activities which were captured through #IFRFAt70 on Twitter.
Seventy Years of Success (1948-2018)
In 1948, the initial steps were taken which led to the formation of IFRF in IJmuiden, the Netherlands. After 58 years of operation, IFRF relocated to Livorno, Italy, where it resided for a further 10 years before moving again – this time to Sheffield, UK – in January 2017. To celebrate this landmark anniversary, we launched IFRF’s ‘Seventy Years of Success (1948-2018)’, a short overview of the life of IFRF to date. This brochure walks you through the key achievements of IFRF, breaks down the periods of history which helped shape this organisation and looks at what is in store for the future of IFRF. The First Seventy Years 1948 – 2018: Expanding Knowledge – Advancing Together
For 70 years, IFRF has pursued its mission with energy, enterprise and success. As a centre of excellence and recognised leader in its field, it has generated, gathered and distributed knowledge, insights and information vital to making industrial combustion safer, cleaner and more efficient. While adapting to the changing scientific, technological, industrial, economic and environmental landscape, IFRF has consistently proved its value as an asset to the world’s combustion community. This publication tells that remarkable story. Reaching such a significant milestone – the 70th anniversary of IFRF’s creation – provides an appropriate opportunity to look back and celebrate past achievements, while reflecting on the organisation’s continuing relevance and looking ahead with confidence to the next chapter in its evolution. Reigniting the…
We published a year-long blog series called ‘Reigniting the…’ which showcased key points from throughout our history and examined their importance and influence both then and to this day. We invited some familiar faces (past and present) to contribute to this series of reflective pieces and they provided some valuable insight into the history of IFRF. These blogs were collated into the #IFRFAt70 e-brochure alongside a snapshot of the #IFRF2018 Conference and the range of celebratory messages we received from our supporters. #IFRF2018 Conference
Bringing this all together was our #IFRF2018 Conference which was held in Sheffield, UK on 30-31 May. We had an excellent attendance at the event, with representatives from across the world contributing to some excellent technical sessions, panel discussions and exhibitions. Relive this event through our YouTube video and our Twitter Moment.
