French clean energy company Lhyfe has continued to make news, with two new projects announced. In the first, the company is to build what it claims would be the largest commercial green hydrogen production plant in Germany, to be located in Schwäbisch Gmünd in the south-west of the country. The project is part of the HyFIVE (Hydrogen For Innovative Vehicles) program funded through the European Regional Development Fund with a €6.4 million grant, and will take renewable electricity as a feed from a range of hydropower, solar and wind sources. The capacity, although large in relative terms, is smallish in absolute terms, with 4 tonnes of hydrogen being produced per day (or about 1,000 tonnes per year), based on a 10 MW installed capacity.

In the second, a 5 MW/2 tonne of green hydrogen per day production facility will be built at the town of Bussy-Saint-Georges, about 25 km east from the city of Paris, and be integrated with an AVIA fuel station operated by French family firm Thevenin & Ducrot. Apart from hydrogen fuelling for vehicles, the production site will also offer hydrogen delivery in containers, and will support the Greater Paris Low-Emissions Zone.
