The IFRF has a long tradition of organising application-orientated training courses which provide (young) engineers in industrial positions with an overview of recent advances in research and development.  Offering a well selected mix of experienced lecturers both from industry and science, the IFRF courses also serve to furnish academics with information about the technological options and problems as background – and probabaly also as incentives – for their research.

Following on from the successful 2008 course entitled “Clean Industrial Fuel Conversion” and held at Livorno, Italy, the new course will be spread over four or five days and will take place in Gliwice, Poland in late March next year.  More than a dozen international experts have already been secured as speakers. Topics include Combustion Aerodynamics, Radiative Transfer, Waste Utilization Technology, Biomass Utilization, Research and Application, and Industrial Application of Mathematical Modelling.  Delegates will also have the opportunity to see the largest supercritical CFB installation in the world, the Lagisza Plant, which is located just 30 km eastwards from Gliwice.

At this stage the IFRF would like to invite expressions of interest in the course from potential delegates.  We would value additional input as we put the finishing touches to the course and are interested in setting up a dialogue with anyone who might have suggestions related to issues still to be decided.
