IFRF member Sintef, the Norwegian energy research company, has released a pilot version of an open-access portal for data on carbon capture and storage projects, called CO₂ Datashare. Two data sets are already available, both related to the Sleipner CO₂ storage site, off the coast of Norway, one being a benchmark model for CO₂ flow, and the other containing seismic data from 14 years of monitoring of carbon injections. The pioneering move to openly share datasets is designed to encourage information reciprocation around the world that will aid the development of carbon capture and storage projects globally.
