Next year’s 17th IFRF Member Conference is currently being organised by the French Flame Research Committee together with IFRF headquarters.  Entitled Clean and efficient fuel conversion in industry this is the first IFRF Member Conference organised in France and will be held on June 11, 12 and 13 in the superb Chateau de Maffliers just north of Paris.

Delegates can look forward to a technical programme of the highest quality.  The Technical Programme Committee, chaired by IFRF President Jacques Dugué and numbering representatives from the IFRF community on both sides of the Atlantic, is hard at work creating the framework for the conference.  Issues under consideration include the Industrial Emissions Directive which entered into force in the European Union in January this year, as well as the recently announced Environmental Protection Agency regulations requiring power plants in 28 US states to reduce emissions that contribute to ozone and fine-particle pollution in other states.

As always, the event will bring to bear the full weight of our Members’ knowledge, expertise and experience on contemporary combustion issues.  Simultaneously, and in keeping with established IFRF tradition, our conference will offer plentiful opportunities to share experiences on large-scale industrial heating processes and to contribute to spreading best available technologies and practices among all represented industrial sectors.

The venue has been carefully selected to offer comfortable conferencing along with opportunities to relax and socialise in quiet and beautiful natural surroundings.  This is definitely an event not to be missed.  All details will be available in next week’s MNM.
