Above: A portrait of Lucy Straker pictured at the University of Sheffield, South Yorkshire on Thursday 18th April 2019.
Lucy specialises in communications and marketing particularly within digital media. She joined IFRF in 2017 from a UK-based member organisation for community action (NAVCA) where she coordinated the communications and engagement with members, key stakeholders and wider communities.
Her passion is in connecting people through digital and social media. Whilst at NAVCA she revolutionised their online presence and established them as a ‘go to’ place for voluntary sector information online. She was also a digital champion for smaller charities and groups and helped them make the step into the digital world.
She has experience of managing co-funded EU projects including projects tackling EU-wide issues such as metal theft, cyber security, counter radicalisation and identity theft. Whilst working with partners across Europe she gained valuable experience and contacts and felt that she was making a difference.
